What Now? – Part 2

I wrote in my blog of 15th August about how some elite athletes struggle to come to terms with retirement. I am delighted to be able to introduce you to someone who has dealt very well with a career transition that can be so traumatizing for some.

Lisa Opie made the headlines by becoming the first woman to win the “Wimbledon of squash” in 20 years. I had the pleasure of supporting her along the way and it will remain one of my greatest sources of enjoyment and satisfaction as I look back on my own career as a sport psychologist.

Since her retirement, Lisa has trained and studied for a successful career in osteopathy. Hers is a story of how she has been able to transfer her learning as an elite athlete to another world. Enjoy reading Lisa’s guest blog
